15 Months Old

Wow, seriously..where does the time go??!! We are loving our little "ham" she just is such a happy girl! Some of the new things she are saying are:

"whats that"
"boo"
"ba" and points to the bath
"si"= slide

hmm..thats all I can think of right now. We are so excited for Halloween, we have been trying to get her to say trick or treat! She is going to be a Bumble Bee. We are going to carve pumpkins this week and I am sure she will love it!

She loves playing wth her slide lately. I got lots of the pics the other night that I will update later. She claps her hands when she goes down, its so funny!

Sunday at the Park

Sunday was a perfect fall sunny day! We decided to go out to lunch and take lil Miss to the park! She loved it! The thing on her nose is from daycare...the sitter said she fell on the concrete..which we didn't understand how that could be perfectly round and on the corner of her nose..but it is almost healed now.

We have a sick baby..

So last week was on of the weeks Karli went to daycare 3 days..and she had been drooling alot and I associated it with teething. Then came the snotty nose, and a terrible cough. She hasn't slept good for the last week. So today I finally took her to the Dr..and she has a Double Ear Infection and Bronchitis. Poor girl. She is sleeping now, and has been for the last hour and a half. We have antibiotics to start her on, so hopefully that will help.

I havent felt the greatest either. Hopefully we can kick these colds and get to feeling better soon! I am ready for Fall!

Goodbye Bottles!

Since August 1st Karli hasn't had a bottle! She is doing great with the sippy cup and drinking milk out of it! Lately when we put her to sleep we rock her and turn on her crib music projector and she is out until 7:30 am!

She tried pineapple yesterday and loved it! Another new favorite is pickles! She also had fish sticks at the sitter the other day and they said she loved them (yuck) I use to like them when I was a kid, but not really anymore. I prefer the real thing!

1 Year Stats!

We went to the Dr. on Tuesday and Karli had her 1 year checkup! Everything is going fine and the Dr. said she looks perfect and is just beautiful!

Weight- 25lb 11oz (95%)
Length- 31 Inches Tall (95%)

Dr. said that her weight isn't a factor right now because she is so tall! She is a good eater and eats just about anything! She was chowing down on cantelope for dessert last night!

I took her yesterday for shots..I hate doing that. She had to get 1 in each arm, then 1 in her leg. We go back in Oct for 2 or 3 more, then not until she is 4! She was a trooper tho and was a good girl, by the time we left the office she was back to being happy..and being in shock!

She is saying "Bye" and "Mol" for Molly! The laughs and chases the cats. We got her a new red wagon and she loves it. She also loves the rocker,scooter Bike Mom and Dave got her for her bday. She was rocking on it last night and signing.

All in all she is growing so fast and doing something new everyday! I love watching her change and interact each day.

She's 1!

We went and got her picture made on her birthday! She wasn't too happy, but we got some good shots! Then Thurs night everyone came into town for the Birthday Party on Saturday. She really had a good birthday, got lots of presents and she loved the cake! We had to give her a bath afterwards of course. Now I think after every meal she is looking for a cake!

It's hard to believe its been a year already. I take her to the Dr. tomorrow for the 1 year checkup and then I got to get shots at the Health Dept..not sure if I am going tomorrow or not. We will see. I am not looking forward to the shots.

It's back to daycare on Wednesday. I am sure she will love seeing the kids again!

It's Hitting Me..

As we are approaching Karli's 1st Birthday I can't help but reflect on the past. This time last year we were anticipating the arrival anyday. We wonderered if she would have lots of hair, her daddy's heighth, how much she would weigh and of course who she looked like!

Has it really been almost a year? I know everyone would say time flies, but I really didn't realize how fast a year goes until I had Karli. It truley did fly by.

I sent 2 thank you cards to my favorite docs, Dr. Billharz who did my cerclage and Dr. Reardon who delivered Karli. I also sent pics, I figured they would like an update and to see how much she has grown! While I was at work, Dr reardon was on call and came to me and said the card made her tear up. Then Dr. Billharz called me and said that I made his day and the card came at the perfect time that he likes being reminded why he does the job he does. Anyways, I love working with these Dr's and the fact that they helped me get my little miracle baby to term, I cant thank them enough. They will always be special to me.

This time next week..we will have company for KK's Big Birthday Party!! Woohooo! I can't wait...I am looking forward to seeing everyone.

Another update, Karli took 6 steps last night! I missed it, I was out of the room, but apparently she did it twice! She may be walking before she is 1!

My Birthday Weekend!

I didnt think we were going to be in Kearney this year for the 4th, because we have been the last 4 years and I wanted to do something different! Well, it turns out I had to work. Brian and Sandy were going to come visit, but they backed out. Anyways, thanks to my awesome friend Merissa, she took me and we got pedicures! She is the best! That made my day.

Also what made my weekend so far was getting cards in the mail from my Pap and Granny and a Target giftcard (woohoo!) Card and money from Mom and Dave (I went shopping already!) Card from Dad and money, and a sweet card from my Grandma Betty.

There is something special about a Grandma. I got teary eyed when I read her card. She said I am "our little miracle" and that things could have turned out way worse than it did and I am ok and thats all that matters. Every day I am reminded of how precious life really is. I am a 24 week miracle baby. Karli was almost in the same situation as I was..but thanks to the Dr's, the cerclage and bedrest, she made it and is perfectly chunky and healthy!

Back to my birthday weekend....everyone always makes it so special. I know everyone lives away and they always take care of me and let me know they are thinking of me. We are hanging out in the neighborhood and then BBQing tomorrow. I hope it doesnt rain. If it does...maybe I can find a sitter and Greg and I can go see ECLIPSE!

Its crazy how when you have a child, now your own Birthday isnt as exciting as it use to be. I am really looking forward to Karli's 1st Birthday in a few weeks and everyone is coming! YAY!!

Wow..a Year ago today..

June 30, 2009 I was 36 weeks and the Cerclage Stitch came out!! I was anxious, nervous and exited! When it was removed I was 1cm and 75% effaced. We thought anyday that Karli would come. This pic was taken on July 4th 2009.

She

She is always in ten places at once. She is cruising all over the house, pulling herself up on the end table, couch, and ottoman. She is peering out the window and blabbing at the flowers. She is grabbing her toes and putting them in her mouth. She is bumping her head on the table, walls and the sliding back door. She is banging on the trash can. She is unraveling rolls of toilet paper all over the bathroom floor. She is diving for my keys and chewing on the cell phone. She is crawling in circles around me, laughing as I pop out at her, making silly noises and waiting for me to tickle her.
She is letting go of the walls and standing alone, testing the strength of her legs. She is climbing all over my body, grabbing my sunglasses and giggling outloud. She is sitting down, trying to build a something as she plays with her blocks.

She is stuffing her tiny shoes everywhere but on her feet. She is slapping the cat dish filled with water to watch it splash. She is stealing cat food from the bowl and sneaking it in her mouth! She is placing items into the muffin tin and pulling them back out again. She is exploring the dishwasher, trying to pull the plates out, banging the pots together. She is flashing me a toothy grin, asking in her own silent way if I will play with her. She is waiting excitedly at the door for her daddy to walk in.

She is making me fall more in love every day. I love my little Karli!

11 Months Old!

Happy Birthday to my 11 Month old girl!! Wow. 1 more month and she will be 1. These last 2 months, she has really grown into a big girl! She has mastered going up and down the stairs, pulling herself up on everything, emptying cabinets and drawers, and has become a fish and loves swimming! Imagine that! :)

So her trip to STL went well, Greg said she was a good girl and he really enjoyed his weekend with her! He said he will do it again! And I was hesitant to let her go, knowing the situation. But it turned out fine, I got a much needed break and did some shopping! It was nice..but I was glad to see that little smile when she saw me!!

So..I have been starting the weaning process since June 1. or sooner than that. I dont even know. I havent been pumping much at all. She was gone the weekend and she usually gets a bottle before bed and then I nurse her too. Well the last 2 nights (and the weekend) she has fallen asleep and I havent gotten to breastfeed her. So I go all day without pumping or anything and then last night night I tried to nurse her after the bottle and she was too full. That made me sad. As much as I thought I would never say that I love breastfeeding, I am going to miss that bond that I have with her. I would like to continue the morning feedings...which I usualyl only do on my days off. So we will see what happens. I think I am ready to be done with it, then apart of me is going to miss that bond with her. Of course I know we will have other Mother-Daughter bonds!

Ok..off the sad note. I know I know she is getting so big and its sad and yet exciting for each stage! The 4th is coming up! Yay, my birthday! Altho I am more exited about Karli's Birthday. I have the decorations picked out and I am going to be ordering them soon! I am also working on making her a shirt! I have a red tutu that I am going to make a 1 shirt to match and am going to get her pics made in that, if it turns out ok!

I am off tomorrow and am hoping to get some more pics of Missy in her pool with her new swimsuit! :)

There's a First Time for Everything!

I guess Greg is taking Karli to St. Louis this weekend! It will be my first time away from her. Altho I have to work on Saturday, so that will go by fast. But I know I will be worried about her, which is typical tho! :) She will be fine! It's going to be harder for me than her.

So anyways, I am deciding what I want to do! Shop, Pedicure, get my hair highlighted, go to dinner, or go to a movie!

I need to get more pics of the lil Miss..she will be 11 months old on Tues! Can't believe it!!

Getting into trouble!

So this is what I caught her doing the other day, splashing around in the kitties water bowl! I said "No Karli" and she turns at me and laughs!

I remember a few months ago, I could barely see her little eyes peeping up at me! I usually put her in the Pack N Play when I take a shower. She was playing peek a boo the other day and I caught this smile!

The Stairs

So yesterday I was in the kitchen putting dishes away and Karli was in the living room playing with her toys and babbling jibberish like she always does! Then I look over and had managed to crawl up the stairs and was 2 from the top. I was hesitating, freaking out, thinking please dont fall backwards..but then she managed to crawl up those last 2 and reached the top! She felt like such a big girl! She is a big girl, I cant believe it!

She has also managed to think she cats water bowl is fun to spash in and get water everywhere! It is pretty funny, I tell her no and she laughs. I will post pics later, I am working today.

As I am nearing Karli's first birthday, I have been doing a lot of reflecting on our past year together. This time last year I was counting down the weeks and anticipating the cerclage removal! Greg and I were both anxious and nervous anticipating your arrival, but nothing could have prepared us for how much she has changed ours lives. This has been an amazing year and she brings more and more joy into our life each day that we spend with her. Everyday I am reminded how blessed I am. I am very proud to be her mommy and thank God everyday that he chose me for the job.

We have a busy summer and lots of fun things to look forward to! You are growing up so fast my little Karli Kaye!

Just a Swingin'

Karli is really loving her swing these days! The pic on the right is her shoes, they are pink Camo Slipons!

She gives the biggest grin and laugh when she is in her swing! It's so much fun! It wont be too much longer and will break out the Baby Swimming Pool!

10 Months Old!

Well here I am again...another month has gone by and now my baby is 10 months old! Seriously, where has time gone, and my little baby is no longer a baby! Despite the fact she is wearing 18 month clothes and she is only 10 months old...she is a little large for her age, but hey thats ok :) Greg and I both look at her and it seems like yesterday that I was on bedrest and counting down the weeks..this time last year, I would have been 31 weeks. Crazy!

Anyways, the little stinker is such a happy girl! She loves to eat! She is spending the day with Daddy today, while I am at work. I will try to get a photo session with her when I get home, or tomorrow!

Karli knawed on her first bone in California! Haha, we went to Pismo Beach and ate at a BBQ place, she loved the bone! She also really discovered eating while we were gone..she loves chicken!!

CALIFORNIA!

We went to California for Merissa's Wedding in Huntington Beach, California! We had a great time, it was so much fun getting to hang out with everyone! We are so thankful for Mom and Dave who went out there with us to babysit Karli. They truly were lifesavers and we got to enjoy a much needed night out!!

Mother's Day!

I had a great First Mother's Day! I feel truly blessed to be a Mom, it is the greatest feeling in the world, and its hard to imagine now life before Karli! (Except the 4months of bedrest) Anyways, I got a Manicure/Pedicure and it also came with a drink so I got a margarita and my toes all pretty too!

I also dont know what I would do without my Mom. She is my best friend and even tho we live away...we talk alot and she is there for me when I need anything. Same for my mother in law, she is always there when I need anything!

We head to Denver tomorrow, then California on Wed! I cant wait!

Karli is doing better, still teething but she slept alot last night and I checked in at the babysitter earlier and she was still sleeping from 830-1130! Maybe its a growth spurt!

An update!

Alot has been happening here! Karli now has 3 top teeth and 2 bottom teeth!! She goes in spurts, some nights she sleeps all the way thru and others she is up several times a night. We are getting ready to go to California for Merissa's wedding, I can't wait it is going to be a blast! I just hope Karli does ok being gone for a week!

9 1/2 months, I cant believe it. I am starting to look at First Birthday stuff..its going to be here before we know it and that makes me a lil sad! My baby is growing sooooo fast. Considering this time last year the time was going soo slow. I was counting down each week and cheering that I had make it that far. Now it has been the fastest 9 months of my life! I love everyday tho, she is such a happy girl. She is standing and she loves holding onto things. Soooo maybe she will be walking soon! She is clapping and I taught her to wave the other day, its so cute!

9 months old!!

Its so hard to believe that Karli is 9 months old today. Time is flying!! She is getting so big and changing so much everyday. She has her 2 bottom teeth and the top 2 should be coming in anytime, we can barely see them! She is pulling up on everything and crawling everywhere! Such a big girl!!

Easter
